Halloween Fun 2011

Halloween brings much fun for Noah with parties and crafts. There is so much excitement building for the actual Halloween night when he gets to trick-or-treat for candy. This year was very fun and memorable because Noah was completely aware of what Halloween was all about. He also couldn't decide what to be for Halloween so we alternated between an green dinosaur (like last year) or a firefighter. Since there were lots of parties and carnivals to attend, Noah didn't mind being both.

North Haven Day School Class PartyCody and I both had to work the day of Noah's class party, so Mimi got to take Noah and experience all the fun. Noah chose to be a green dinosaur for this party and his buddy, Cashton, was a cowboy.

Gymnastics Class Costume Dress Up

Then that night, Noah dressed as a green dinosaur again for gymnastics class. Kynlee was Dora the Explorer. It was cute seeing them dressed up during little stunts and tumbles.

Moore West Junior High School Trick-o-Treat Night

Every year my school's National Junior Honor Society hosts a trick-or-treat night for our elementary feeder schools and preschools. This time Noah chose to be a firefighter. Noah invited Kynlee to go with him to the carnival. There were games, a very haunted hallway and lots of candy. Mrs. Goodnight had to go ahead of Noah and Kynlee to yell at the ghosts and goblins waiting to scream people in the haunted hallway. She warned Fs would be given out Monday if her son and his friend were scared...

Mummy Wrap Toss: Toss the mummy wrap through the hoop to get a prize.

Pin the Nose on the Jack-o-Lantern: Spin in circles and then pin...It was a little high for preschoolers.

Bowling: Noah did this one twice. He just had to knock pins down!

Halloween Day

Trick-or-Treat night was on Monday. After school Noah and I made treats to take to his buddy Cashton's house for the Halloween party that night. We made spider, candy corn, pumpkin and skeleton sugar cookies complete with icing and sprinkles AND I got a wild Betty Crocker hair and made candy corn Rice Krispy treats. Noah loves to bake with me. We aren't the best at it, but it sure is fun! The candy corn Rice Krispy treats were a good idea in theory, but very time consuming having to color certain measurements...It was a very, very sticky mess.

Noah chose to be a firefighter for the actual Halloween night. Cody wiped soot on Noah's cheeks and forehead to make our little firefighter a little more authentic. Genius idea!

Then it was off to Cashton's house for frito chilli pie and mummy-wrapped hot dogs. As soon as the sun set, we all grabbed our buckets and bags to trick-or-treat around the neighborhood. We only walked two streets, but that was plenty of candy for little tummies. It was a lot of fun collecting candy with a big group. There was about 30 of us!
