Snow Day #5
Snow Day #5 wasn't really a 'snow' day since it was Saturday, but there was still snow on the ground, so that counts, right? Cody had to work again, so Noah and I roughed it without him. It's been pretty rough the last 5 days staying in our jammies most of the day. We watched Cars and Kung Fu Panda in Noah's playroom...well he did. I dozed through most of Cars laying next to him on our palette on the floor. Then, just before lunch, we resurrected Frosty. The snow finally started to melt! That made for good snow packing instead of the powdery stuff we'd had all week! The temperature was in the 40's, but we still bundled up. I ended up having to remove my coat and just wear a sweatshirt because I was sweating rolling giant snowballs. Isn't it an oxymoron to be hot outside when there's snow on the ground??
Noah wasn't much help making Frosty's body. He would come by occasionally and slap a tiny bit of snow on Frosty's sides and then scamper off to dive bomb in the snow. He did find (or removed) a nice circular block of ice that was on the lid of his sandbox. He proceeded to 'ice skate' on it, he said. He placed it next to Frosty in case Frosty wanted to ice skate later...Noah would also stomp into the (now smaller) snow drifts, pretend to get stuck and holler, "Ayudame Mommy! Eek eek!" which means, "Help me!" in Spanish. He's such a ham.

Frosty was adorned in exquisite raisin buttons, freshly-picked stalk of celery for his nose, spiral noodles to make his lips, 'real' 14 karat gold chocolate coins as his eyes, two shoots of bamboo 'borrowed' from the neighbors for his arms and a faux Burberry scarf with matching black gloves to accessorize. Noah put on the finishing touch-a fire firefighter helmet so Frosty could be like Daddy. Frosty resembles Cody, no? Only in Noah's imagination. Noah sure does idolize his daddy and rightfully so, Cody is an amazing father.
Lunch meant grilled cheese-Diplodocus grilled cheese to be exact! I brought Noah his plate and upon seeing the dino cut-outs he said, "Wow Mommy! Good job!" He gobbled down those sandwiches before I could blink and then asked for more. I just beamed! That must be how Linda feels when Cody dotes on her cooking! Even though it was something so simple as a grilled cheese, I really had satisfied my little boy. Made my day.

After nap Mimi came over to find a cure for cabin fever, so we headed to Target which was ridiculously busy. We were in hot pursuit of a booster seat for Mimi's car which we found, thanks to the shopping tip from Abby who had been to Target earlier. We never have to move a car seat again! Life is becoming very hassle free with Noah being potty trained for 8 months now. He's quite the little man. He reasons with you. He compromises. He listens and follows directions. He puts away his laundry and cleans up his dishes. He knows his birthday, knows how much he weighs; "firty-two pounds" he says, and can spell his name. Of course, he can still count to ten in Spanish, knows his ABCs, numbers and shapes. He's entered the stage of questioning everything: why and what seem to be his favorite ones. We are working on getting dressed without help. Shirts are difficult to get off and sometimes his pants get stuck on his booty. His favorite things to go do are have a "zoo day, twick-uh-tweat, fair and pay games"said just like that. The OKC Zoo, Halloween with Kynlee, the Cleveland County Fair and Hey Day have really made impressions on Noahbear. His memory is so sharp. Staying in with Noah has been awesome. Going back to work next week is going to be rough.
