Snow Day #4

Snow Day #4 = Friday! I'm so thankful school was cancelled again because going back for just one day would have been crowd control or more like babysitting instead of worthwhile instructional time. On the news Thursday night, I heard OKC crews spent all day clearing the roads in downtown OKC for the Thunder game. Why weren't crews clearing residential streets so our kids could go to school and get an education? I'm thinking maybe Oklahoma City's priorities are a little out of whack, no? It snowed nearly all day today. It's also suppose to snow again Sunday through Wednesday of next week! At this rate, I'll be teaching school until July!
Very exciting news though! Noah is now in a big boy booster seat! He is using a regular shoulder strap seat belt in cars now. I can't believe he is old enough to meet the requirements for a booster. He will be three very soon. It's a little bittersweet. (We did get a steal of a deal on the booster seat at Target. This seat is the top of the line, best recommended one. Cody drove to two different Targets hunting for the seats. We ended up getting two-one for each of our cars-because it was such a cheap deal. $35 each!)

Since Cody was off work today, he drove us over to Abby's to play. We picked up Kamrin along the way. I teach and lead a bible study with Kamrin. She said she was going to go crazy if she didn't get out of her apartment soon, so we rescued her. She has a two-wheel drive car and didn't feel very comfortable getting out on the roads. Abby was also going a little crazy, too, with just Kynlee to talk to since Jesse, her husband, was working. It was good to see friends. Noah had a good time playing with Kynlee. We got them bundled up to play in the snow and once we were outside, Noah only lasted for ten minutes. He requested to be allowed to go back inside to play. Kynlee, however, enjoyed it! Abby said the first time she took Kynlee out in the snow this week, Kynlee was not excited and wasn't having it, but today she giggled and plowed right into the white stuff!

Once back inside, we broke out the XBox KINECT dance game. We had a great time laughing at our lack of ability and the difficulty of the routines. More cardio to work off those extra pounds, though! I realized how uncoordinated I am...Noah and Kynlee had a great time shaking their booties!

Cody came to get us around naptime. We all took a good nap. After nap, Cody made a run to Walmart to get a few....or ten much-needed items. Our kitchen turned into the Goodnight bakery. I had a lot of irons in the fire! Yellow cake cupcakes baking with waiting chocolate icing and sprinkles, white almond bark melting to drizzle on pretzels and another batch of chocolate snow ice cream! See what I mean? Extra pounds! While I baked, the boys played war with army men, watched basketball and Tag, lots and lots of Tag.
