Last Saturday, Mimi and I took Noah to the Cleveland County Fair. This fair is so organized and nice. It's not your regular, stereotypical fair riff-raff, either. The weather was great, too! We had the best time!
We got in line and bought tickets immediately so Noah could ride or 'play' as he called it. First stop was the carousel which we rode a total of four times - first on the spotted puppy, then on the lion, next was the creepy monkey and lastly, the bunny 'wabbit'. Noah rode all by himself on the boat ride twice! Each boat had a horn and steering wheels which Noah loved to mess with. I gave him instructions to sit on his bottom and keep this dinky piece of rope across him as his seat belt, so (in the words of Dora the Explorer) "we could be safe"! He liked riding the boats going around in circles. He wanted in the blue boat just like Papa's.
Next was the airplane ride. Noah was excited to get in the 'orange one'. He was tall enough to ride alone on this one, too. He was more siked about the fake gun that 'shoots'. "Powpow", he says. The plane ride went faster than the boat ride. The ride operator had to stop the ride to let Noah off because Noah got scared or dizzy and started standing up yelling for his momma. :( So that was the end of the airplane ride...
We only played one game. And it was a sure win. Pick any duck and you're a winner! Noah chose a nice stuffed Nemo fish.
We took a tour of the barns. One of my students, Megan, was there. Her pigs placed third overall. It was nice to see her outside of school and be able to celebrate her accomplishment. Noah is obsessed with animals. The Perry Petting Zoo was great. There were baby chicks and ducks to hold. There were bunnies you could hold in a basket and lots of livestock to pet and brush. It was very crowded, but a great experience for the little guy.
We had an excellent time with our now 2 1/2 year old! County fairs are the place to be! We can't wait for next year when Noah's tall enough to ride the alligator roller coaster!!
