Easter Eggs, Jesus, Friends & Fun

Easter was so fun this year! Noah is at the right age for dying eggs, hunting them, learning about Jesus and just having fun. The Sunday before Easter Noah had a play date with two sets of twins! ~ Gabby and Lilly Erickson and Olivia and Sophie Tatum. We dyed eggs and turned these eggs into little round monsters! On Thursday of Easter week, Noah had an egg hunt at his school. Cody took him since I had to work. Noah brought home a lot of eggs!! Saturday morning we went to Journey Church's egg hunt at Kennedy Elementary school. Kennedy is in the lowest economic area of Norman. The church has partnered with Kennedy to do some outreach to the students there. Journey brought it all - music, two moon bounces, free hot dogs and drinks, door prices, hundreds of Easter eggs and the actual Easter Bunny himself! There were over 1100 people there! It was absolutely incredible. (Cody makes fun of me for this, but when we pulled up to the school I clapped my hands together and started to cry because all these people were being touched by Jesus!) Afterward we headed to Seminole for an Easter/Maria's 14th birthday party. We sang "Happy Birthday", ate birthday cake and then had two egg hunts - one for the little kids with easy hidden eggs and another for the teenagers - the eggs were practically buried! Sunday morning Great Papa came down and went to church with Mimi, Kristin, Noah and me. Cody had to work. The Easter Bunny brought Noah a Max and Ruby storybook and a Max stuffed bunny. He also got dinosaur puzzles and The Tickle Monster book complete with gloves. (If you don't have this book and you're a mommy or daddy, you need to get it!!) We are most thankful for this time of year to remember its true reason - Jesus' suffering on the cross. Thank you, Lord, for sending your son, for his death and for our salvation. It was a GREAT Easter.
