Husband of the Year

Cody and I decided it was time to splurge and remodel our kitchen. Since we bought this house, we've been unsatisfied with the kitchen counter tops and back splash. We knew eventually we'd want to replace the black Formica with granite. So Cody called around. We hired Tops by Cop to do the work. Cody prepped the kitchen for granite. He really likes the demo part. Plus, it saved us some money. The granite guys were here for about 4 hours laying the counter tops - New Venetian Gold. We did learn that the builders of our home did a poor job leveling our cabinets. We still have some trim-covering to do, if that's a word, to cover the gaps between the cabinets and granite. So the real reason for this entry isn't to show off our new counter tops, it's to brag on my incredible husband.

Not only does Cody choose and want to be home on his days off with Noah, he shares the burden of house work-cleaning, cooking, laundry- so when I get home from teaching rug rats all day long, the house is one less thing I have to worry about. Not only does Cody make an excellent dad and husband, he's an awesome tile layer! Cody taught himself how to tile the back splash in our kitchen. It was a work in progress for a while, but now that it's finished, it looks incredible - just like we hired a professional to do it.

Cody had to rework the plumbing for the new kitchen sink. Noah was his little helper as they investigated the pipes.

So here's the finished product. It looks fabulous! My husband is the best all-around guy. I'm so proud of him!
