Noah's Kynlee

My best friend Abby and her husband, Jesse, have joined the Parenthood Club. Miss Kynlee Lynn graced us with her presence 5 weeks ago. Her arrival was very much anticipated. Abby and I have been friends since we were 14 years old. We met on a high school mission trip in inner city Chicago. She just moved back from Louisiana to be closer to family (and me) so we all can help raise Kynlee. We've done lots of things together - some silly, some serious, but raising our kids together in the same town is going to be the greatest adventure yet. Noah has been very taken with Kynlee since he laid eyes on her. We went to visit not too long ago and Noah got to hold her for the first time. He sat very still and pointed to each of her facial features - head, ears, nose, eyes, mouth. He was very gentle and sweet. Before he got down to play, he gave her a kiss. Every since his first meeting with Kynlee, he has been inseparable from a baby doll Mimi (my mom) gave to him. It's the most masculine baby doll she could find. My mom is a doll collector so she has several at her home, but we don't have any in our house. Noah was very persistent the baby doll came home with us one day I picked him up from Mimi's. Baby Drew, as we call him, goes with Noah everywhere in the house - in the high chair, in the playroom, in his bed. He walks around saying, "Baby, baby". It's just too cute. Noah is very rough-all boy-and likes to wrestle with Dad and beat the furniture with his baseball bat or golf club, but with Baby Drew and Kynlee, Noah slows down and is very gentle. He's learning there's a time to be sensitive and a time to be rowdy. I couldn't be more thrilled to have Abby back in Oklahoma and living so close. I'm ecstatic to be Aunt Alison and watch Kynlee grow. Noah and Kynlee will grow to be sweet friends. And Noah is going to be a great big brother some day (a couple more years from now).
