Journey East are Champions!

Monday evening Cody's softball team, Journey East, played in the post-season tournament. The first game was at 6:30 against the young McFarlin Methodist team. They played this game because Journey East was toward the bottom of the league. 13-0 was the score. Journey East run-ruled McFarlin by the 3rd inning. The second game was against Knights of Columbus with a score of 11-6. So Journey East moved on to their third game against First Baptist. They run-ruled this team by the 5th inning, 9-0. The 4th and final game was the championship against Immanuel Baptist. Cody said this was the best game he's played in in a long time! By the 4th inning, Immanuel Baptist was up 16-2. It was not looking good, but something changed. Journey East needed to score 5 runs to stay in the game and they did! In the 5th inning, they needed 3 runs to keep it going and they scored! The game winning hit was by Brad Johnson who knocked in Bryan Waldenville for the go-ahead run. Final score was 18-17, Journey East on top. So Journey East are the champions! So proud, guys!!! Well done! You deserve it after a long, hard season! Whoot! Whoot! Here's pictures from the evening's events. Enjoy.
