A Fire is Burning...

My husband has one of the toughest, dirtiest and dangerous jobs. He's a fireman. I joke with him that his job is really full of perks: 10 days a month of work and permanent butt dents in the recliner cushions. But when Cody works, he WORKS! The last couple of shifts have been more exciting! He had a grass fire with a bunch of round hay bales ablazing (picture to the left - Cody is on the far right) and a residential house fire almost fully engulfed in flames. Fire was above, below and to both sides of Cody as he fought the fiery beast inside the house. I am very proud of my husband - always have been, but on days when his work gets captured and I can witness what he actually does, more than playing truck pong and taking naps, I'm ecstatic to have him as my partner. He risks his life and the well-being of his family every time he fights a fire. I praise God and wrap him in prayer. He is a wonderfully strong man, husband, father, best friend and firefighter. I'd want him to rescue me any day. And he does.

Here's a short video from the residential fire Thursday afternoon all bunked out in his gear in 101 degree heat. You won't actually see him in the news video captured by channel 5 because Cody is IN the house fighting the fire. You will see flames coming from the roof and inside the window. Off the porch you will see the hose and some men pulling the hose. Cody is on the other end inside. Click on the link below.
