Worthless Water Chestnuts

Grandma has a Water Chesnut tree in her yard that drops hundreds of chestnuts in the fall. She had a friend who wanted a few bags of chestnuts to use in craft projects. So, to give Noah something to do and us time together, we helped Grandma harvest water chestnuts. The weather was cool and the wind was blowing rustling the leaves as we dug through the grass to uncover chestnuts. We had a nice time visiting and picking on Mom. Then our harvest turned into a chestnut fight as we threw them at each other. Noah has a pretty good arm! Come to find out, these chestnuts are worthless...so worthless in fact the squirrels don't even eat them. Our harvest wasn't all for not. We had a great time together anyway.
