House Crashers
We have 'crashed' this house. It doesn't really look the same from the day we purchased the home. The only thing that's original in its color and condition is the tile flooring. We are really making it our own. I shouldn't say 'we' because on the inside I haven't done much renovation other than pointing and picking out colors (which I'm good at). Cody has worked his tail off and enlisted the help of several friends and family. So let me take the time to personally thank fire buddies Casey Elliot for all his plumbing efforts and Jeremy Morris for his kitchen sink carpentry. A BIG thank you to Candie Hart for painting the old '47 Ford retired fire truck in Norman on a canvas for Noah's room. Thanks to Gene, Linda and Masha Goodnight for days of painting and unpacking. We hope your brain cells grow back after inhaling all that paint smell. And brother Dwayne Goodnight for putting a job on hold and installing the microwave, backsplash and custom-building a cabinet over the microwave. We are SO very close to have this part of the renovation complete! It's getting very exciting because the finished product is in sight!! Pictures are getting hung. Curtains are dressing windows. Boxes of our treasures are unpacked. We can actually prepare a home cooked meal and sit at the table as a family. We are still waiting on carpet and need to replace a few windows. Of course minor details and decorating are in need, too, but for the most part the light is very bright at the end of the tunnel! We haven't settled, but made smart decisions on how to spend our money. Below is a slideshow of our BEFORE/IN PROGRESS. Nope. Sorry no final pictures. That will be on the grand finale renovation blog. But there is a picture of our favorite contractor who's helped around the house, too.
