Soccer Needs the Sun

For spring, we enrolled Noah in soccer at the YMCA. He is on a team with nine of his friends. Their team name is the 'Hippo-Ducks'. Our very first game was cold and overcast; not ideal for a bunch of 3 and 4-year-olds to be out playing soccer in. It was awful. Almost all of the kids were crying and shivering the entire 45-minute game. Noah maybe played a matter 5 minutes which I had to bribe him with a toy to even get him to play. He just wanted to stay wrapped up in a blanket sitting on the sidelines. I thought to myself, "I've paid a lot of money for him to play! He's getting out in this at least once!" When he did play, he enjoyed it, but he quickly got cold and ran back to the sidelines. Game #1 wasn't fun at all.

Game #2 was incredibly more enjoyable all around. Blakely scored her first goal of the season. Her daddy, Coach Bryan, was thrilled! It was a highlight. Noah played practically the entire time. He didn't cry because he was cold. He cried because kids kept taking the ball away or knocking him down, but nonetheless Noah left the game loving soccer!

Blakely is a pro!

Ella gives a great kick!
