Do you find it utterly annoying when you can't remember something you KNOW happened? That very thing had us stumped at dinner. Like I said, this was our second time at Shogun, but it was our third time staying in a Hyatt Place hotel in Tulsa. All dinner and part of the concert we racked our brains trying to remember why we've been to the Hyatt Place three times. We could recall every bit of our last time here for the Dane Cook concert, but our memories failed us connecting the other time. We traced back every time in Tulsa up to four years ago! This type of thing drives us crazy. It paralyzes our thoughts until we figure it out. At least it made good dinner conversation; although, it almost ate Cody alive not remembering...

Eric Church was really great. If you don't know who he is, look him up on iTunes. His songs "Sinners Like Me", "These Boots", "How 'Bout You?" and "Guys Like Me" are our favs. Eric was extremely passionate about his music. He would get so fired up that he looked like he might just explode center stage. It was very contagious. The crowd was belting the songs right along with him!

Jason Aldean was the headliner. I LOVE (all caps) his song he sings with Kelly Clarkson "Don't You Wanna Stay?". Buy it on iTunes right now. His stage was very plain and simple. Just one big screen and lots of lights. Even though it was simplistic, it rocked! The crowd was crazy! It must be pretty cool to be an artist and hear your songs sung back to you word for word ten thousand strong. Cody and I enjoyed the time together, the loud music and watching the people around us...We must be getting old because young kids with dirty mouths, belligerently drunk girls and obnoxious older women who can't clap just annoy us. At times it got hard to be Christ-like. We both thought it might have been easier to just turn around, mouth off and knock one of them down, but then what would that have accomplished? In the grand scheme of things, and in the words of my husband, "It's not that big of a deal".
It was definitely a late night, but sleeping in was a treasure. We had breakfast at Panera-ordered more food than we needed. I think our eyes were bigger than our stomachs! And then head home to Noahbear. It was a great weekend for country music and catching up on each other.
Enjoy the videos! They don't do the music justice as there is too much bass feedback, but fun nonetheless!
