Haiti: Day Nine

Back in America by 8:45 am! Instead of enjoying all the airport festivities, the team headed for South Beach in Miami, Floridia. So jealous! As we bundled up for a cold, rainy, windy day, Cody endured 75 degree weather and sunshine! What a well-deserved treat after a hard, long week! At 5:45 pm, Cody boarded the plane from Miami to DFW. Inching his way closer to home!

Cody should be home sometime around 1 am this evening. He plans to take it easy tomorrow, hanging out with Noah while I'm teaching school. Then spend time as a family in the evening. I can't wait to hear all of his stories as I only caught bits and pieces over these last nine days. I do know these last nine days have been eye-opening, life-changing and heart-breaking for Cody.

Noah and I got up and went to church with the help of Mimi because I sang this morning. (I wouldn't have been able to keep my sanity, work or care for Noah without the help of my mom. She has been here every day since last Monday taking care of Noah while I worked. She made this trip possible for our whole family. THANKS, MOM!) Noah loves to listen to the church band. For second service, he sat with Mimi. During the song I led, "Revelation Song", Noahbear raised his hands in the air to praise Jesus! I love this zealous worshipper! He can't sit still when music plays! Now we are anixiously waiting for Daddy.

Cody and I will head to Haiti at the end of May with Journey church. We can't get this country off our minds or hearts. For some reason we are tied there.

My mother-in-law sent me this link below because not only are my in-laws currently adopting an incredible 13-year-old, Maria, from the Ukraine, but orphans are their heartsong. I have asked her to partner with Cody and I as we press into the Spirit and ask for clarity as to what our ties to Haiti might be-financial giving, hands-on serving, prayer, adoption, funding college tuition...Read this blog entry. One day this is what I'll say to my son...
