P-L-A-Y!

Monday Alison was off work in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day, so we scheduled a play date with all Noah's buddies - Ty, Chase and new friend, Cashton. All these boys will be turning two by July! Chase's older brother, Bryce, came too! He showed all the little guys how to shoot hoops! So all the little men packed into Noah's room for a short game of three on three. Noah guards the goal as Chase turns to take the shot.

Our house also turned into a track with the boys racing cars and pushing each other in circles on the fire truck or four wheeler.
Noah has been feeling a little "off". We don't know whether to chalk it up to a minor cold or a growth spurt. He's been sleeping for very long periods of time - which is nice for us, but at the same time, not expressing much interest in food. He's also had some tummy issues causing him to be "backed up". A couple of friends have mentioned to us Noah looks taller. He is shooting through clothes. He is definitely a 2T now at 22 months old. So maybe it is a growth spurt! Because of the growth spurt or whatever this phase is, Noah has been moody.
To keep Noah happy after nearly a 3-hour nap, Mommy set up his mattress as a slide. He had a blast being silly.
Noah is forming sentences now like "Where'd he go?" when someone leaves or "More milk please" at dinner. He asked me the other day as I came out of the bedroom dressed and ready for church, "Is Daddy coming?" It was so cute, but I had to break his heart because Daddy was at the station. (Of course, his sentences are totally clear, but understandable.) When one of us is being silly he'll say, "Oh Momma" or "Oh Daddy". That's real cute.
Noah enjoys imitating animals - his favorites are a wolf, a monkey and a horse. He's obsessed with his belly button which he calls "butt". He lifts his shirt to show any and everybody and then expects you to show yours in return. He's really into dinosaurs, sports, trains, airplanes, books, firetrucks, flashlights and ABCs. He sang all the way to letter G for Daddy. He's recognizing several letters and naming them - T, G, M, O, B are just a few. Wonder Pets, Max and Ruby and Little Bear are becoming fast favorites next to Dora, Elmo and Diego.
Noah is a little apprehensive about the dark. He will come tell us "gark" when a light needs to be turned on. (He has trouble saying "D".) He likes to play Simon Says with us. Our kisses fix every booboo. Although he's tougher than snot, he doesn't need many.
Dancing and playing his toy guitar are favorite pass times. He loves to jam out when the music is on. He'll either be a musician or an astronaut. Noah loves the moon and the stars. We visit the moon in our front yard on nights it's not too cold.
So what's next? We're planning a birthday party with his buddy, Ty. It won't be long until our little boy is two!
