Dining Out and Staying In

Our church has a heart for the nation of Haiti especially now after the earthquake. Our church has traveled a handful of times already to Haiti and will be sending emergency medical teams down through the month of February to aid in the disaster relief. Cody will be traveling to Haiti February 13th through the 20th to work as an EMT wherever he may be needed. We are excited for this opportunity to serve! Please pray for safe travel for Cody. Our small group decided to take advantage of a fundraising opportunity for Haiti. We all met at Louie's, a restaurant in Norman, Monday night for fellowship and dinner where 10% of our meal ticket was donated to the Red Cross. There were 29 of us including two children crammed like sardines into the party room. We were elbow to elbow. It was a great opportunity to visit outside of the church setting. When all was said and done, we spent $450 sending $45 to Haiti. To us, it seemed a little measly, but every bit helps, right?

Cody and I absolutely adore each person in our small group. We know that at a moment's notice, any one of them would do anything for us at a drop of a hat. We are blessed to have a family of Christians who we can do and share life with. They pray with us when we are hurting or struggling and celebrate our joys. Our group continues to grow! Cody and I were talking about this the other day how cool it is to see God bring in new people! Some say our group is BIG, but we LOVE it! What variety of experience, wisdom and perspective we have to share!

So this is what is going on outside of our house today. Underneath the beautiful fallen snow is a thick layer of ice which makes for dangerous road conditions. I only had a three-day school week. Noah and I are "snowed in" while Daddy is off pulling people out of ditches (again). Cody always seems to get the shifts when bad weather hits!

Noah and I have been trying to keep from getting cabin fever. I'm deep cleaning and organizing digital photos (fun!) while Noah plays. We built towers, done all the puzzles twice, colored to our hearts' content and played the ABC fishing game!

Noah didn't quite get the hang of it, so resorted to "bobbing" for letters.

And finally, naked basketball. Enjoy!
