Noah Speaks

I'm still sticking to it that our son is a genius...I have more evidence to prove it!

Evidence #7: Last night during bath, Noah was playing with his rubber duckie bath toy. This one happens to be dressed as a firefighter like Daddy. He chews on it and mumbles baby things to it all the time. Every time before we've had bath time, I always say the name of each toy he is holding - like "starfish" or "penguin". When I've said "duck", he'd look at me funny and giggle. I guess he liked that word! So last night, he had the duck. He looked at it and said, "duck" plain as day! I said, "What? Duck?" And he said, "Duck, duck, duck". I hollered for Cody who came running with the video camera. (The clip below is taking from my cell phone. Sorry it's grainy.) So our son's official entrance into the speaking world is with the word "duck".

Evidence #8: Noah is observant! Noah has foam letters he plays with in the bath. He has learned, after watching me and his Aunt Kristin, that the letters will stick to the sides of the tub when wet. He sticks them all over the place!

Evidence #9: Noah is a regular Vincent Van Gogh. Today (Tuesday) I stayed home because school was cancelled due to the ice and sleet. We made valentines as today's art project. Noah had a blast. I stripped him down to his diaper, put him in his high chair, gave him a dab of red non-toxic paint and he went to town. Boy, was he messy! After a bit of smearing, he decided to venturing a taste. Yuck! He started slapping himself to rid the bitter taste in his mouth, but ended up making tiny red hand prints all over himself instead! I got the handy box of wet wipes to clean him off and his sippy cup of juice to wash down the taste. We made some very pretty valentines for our friends and loved ones!

Evidence #10: Noah is a future engineer. Daddy taught Noah how to turn off and on the lights. Before entering or exiting any room, Daddy lets Noah flick the light switch up or down. Noah gets SO tickled at himself when the room goes bright or dark!

Evidence #11: Noah has moves. He likes to jam to his musical activity table (and any other toy that plays a song). Look out, Usher! Noah just might steal your moves!!

Evidence #12: Noah is an explorer. All morning Noah has been crawling over to the back door and talking to the white contraption laying on the ground outside! So I bundled him up nice and warm and we went to investigate. Our exploration lasted about 10 minutes, but he was very intrigued by the cold, wet stuff around him!

We've had a great day. Can't wait to see what we discover tomorrow since I get another day off from school to be with our son! And Daddy will be home, too!
