Noah Everett is in First Grade! I just can't believe it! It feels like it was yesterday that he was totting around the house in a diaper. My, the time goes quickly.
Noah is 49 inches tall and weighs 58 pounds these days. He is one of the taller kids in his class! He's wearing size small shirts and size 7 pants. He's almost a size 13 shoe. He does have small feet compared to his other buddies. He likes to keep his hair short and hates to have gel in it. He still has all his baby teeth. He's starting to ask when he will lose them, so the Tooth Fairy will come visit.
Noah loves math and is quite good at it. Praise God! (Because I am not. I hoped and prayed he'd inherit that "gene" of good math sense from his daddy.) He is reading so well on his own! Hearing him sound out words in his sweet little voice is beautiful. He has a spelling test of 15 words every Friday, so we work diligently every day of the week on those. He is taking piano lessons. He is naturally gifted at meter and rhythm. (I'll take the credit for that...)
Noah enjoys video games, really anything electronic. He loves to wrestle and fight his daddy. He's recently started to enjoy racquet ball and taking interest in exercising. He likes Legos, Transformers and Skylanders. His favorite tv shows are still Scooby Doo and Tom and Jerry. (And he'll still sit and watch Disney Junior and Max and Ruby. I'm so glad he's not "too big" for those shows.)
He is currently playing soccer through NYSA, Norman Youth Soccer Association. His team name is Thunder. They are undefeated! Noah likes the position of sweeper so he can play defense.
Noah loves to cuddle when he's going to bed or right when he wakes up on the weekend. He does not have a girlfriend and if you ask him who his girlfriend is, he will say, "My mommy is." And it will stay that way until he's 36. Ok, maybe not that long...I don't want him to be a weirdo! But we do not entertain the idea of thinking girls are more than friends at his age.
Noah is compassion. He thinks to pray for his friends and even asks us to pray for him specifically. He prayed over his friend after school one day right before she got a flu shot. He prayed she would be brave. Noah is an encourager. He cheers for his team mates and helps motivate them to keep going.
He is an incredible little boy. Cody and I find so much joy in watching him grow up. There are times we wish we could freeze life and bottle up all of Noah's goodness and innocence, but we know that will stunt the work of the Lord in our sweet boy's life. There are good things planned for Noahbear. We are excited and expectant to see them!
