Holidays sure are fun with this little boy! He lives his life by what holiday or birthday comes next! We are always looking forward to celebrating something. I think that's a great philosophy to live by - always expecting the good times, the celebrations rather than letting the broken or lost moments of yesterday ruin your tomorrows. Noah is on to something here. He's always expect of the good.
This Valentine's Noah couldn't wait to celebrate! We had an Angry Bird valentine box to collect his cards and candy in at his school party. (Thank you, Pinterest.)
We also made his teacher an actual chalkboard card. She can erase the message and use the chalkboard in her kitchen! I heard through a mutual friend, she was in the market for a chalkboard anyway. I'm all about the practical gifts. The less candy and sweets, the better.
Noah personalized his Star Wars valentines to each of his friends. And we also opted for less candy. We attached a glow stick bracelet to each valentine which became the light saber for whatever Star Wars character was on the valentine. Pretty easy and fun!
Noah's class had an ice cream sundae party for their valentine's celebration. Kids chose their toppings to their taste and enjoyed open their boxes of valentines.
After school, Noah and I met Abby and her two girls, Kynlee and Sawyer, at the park to play. It was a gorgeous day. Noah and Kynlee exchanged valentines, too.
Cody had to work Valentines, so we opted to celebrate the following day. We normally do not celebrate Valentines, but this year we've made a lot of changes and decided it was fitting to do something special. We had a day date together - lunch at our favorite Italian place, Victoria's, on Campus Corner then a couple's massage at our home. Our spare bedroom was turned into a mini spa retreat. A friend of mine makes house calls, so we booked her for a little relaxation. Cody also surprised me a dozen pink roses and Romance perfume, my favorite. It was a great day of love with my very own valentine.
