Fish for Father's Day

First, I am so blessed to be married to an incredible man who is such a good daddy.  I know Noah will be a confident man of God because of the way Cody loves him.  One of Cody's best attributes is being a dad.  He is so good at it!  So for Father's Day, I wanted to do something extra special.

For all of the 'dads' in Noah's life, we did a photo shoot to make a framed collage of Noah spelling out "DAD" and "PAPA".  My mom took the photos in our backyard.  It was hot and bugs were itching Noah's ears, he said.  He wasn't a very happy camper.  So I knew this had to be quick.  Getting him to smile was also a trick.  He would only smile when I would say silly words like "diaper" or "poo".  The photos turned out great, though!  He's so photogenic!

We also had a fun friends over for dinner the week before Father's Day.  I was in charge of dessert, so Noah and I made "Daddy" cupcakes complete with golf greens, sand traps and a few ponds.  The golf balls are little tiny marshmallows you put in your hot cocoa!  They turned out great and were yummy, too!

Four of us wives got together and planned a little overnight trip to Lake Texoma to go on a guided striper fish tour.  So on the last Friday of June the dads loaded up in a truck with coolers packed and snacks in tow.  It was hot, but the boys quickly caught fish!  They were on the water by 2 pm.  For about two hours it was steady catching them.  They had caught 21 fish at that point, but I don't think they caught much more.  At 6 pm, they called it a day and headed back to their private lodge.  They had a great night a fellowship, meeting the 'neighbors', going to the casino and staying up late playing card games.

When the guys got home that Saturday, we all got together for a fish fry.  The kids were so excited to eat the fish because their daddies had caught it!!

Happy Father's Day, Cody, Bryan, Brett and Chris!  Hope you had fun just being guys!
