Noah Everett is four years old now. He's 41 1/2 inches tall and weighs 41 pounds. He still has that big head; he's in the 85th percentile for head size. It's a Goodnight trait. But that head holds a lot of brain power! He is one sharp little boy - witty and ornery, but soaks up everything around him like a sponge. He loves to tell Knock, Knock jokes, especially ones he makes up. He says or does things that are completely hilarious. He will be a class clown for sure. Hopefully his teachers can help him learn to control it during school when he's older. Here's a few funny things he's said lately. Hopefully I can recreate the scene well.---------------------------------------
ME: "Noah let's go brush your teeth before you go to bed."
NOAH: "OK!"( as he runs down the hall to the bathroom.)
(I walk down the hall to the bathroom, turn into the bathroom and find him standing on the potty getting his toothpaste and vitamins out of the cabinet above.)
ME: "Noah Goodnight, are you suppose to stand on the potty?" (He knows he's not. He will get in trouble if he does.)
NOAH: "Momma, don't worry. Don't you know four-year-olds are the best climbers?" (He gets down carefully.) "See, I told you."

NOAH: (in the car on the way to the circus one night) "Momma, you mean I get to go to the circus and take a rest then go to the zoo?"
ME: "Yep, we go to the circus tonight with Mimi then come home for bed. When Daddy gets home, we'll go to the zoo tomorrow morning."
NOAH: (smiling ear to ear, head thrown back and yells) "These are the best days of my life!!!"

CODY: (After repeatedly asking Noah to eat his dinner, Cody stands to clear his own plate,but turns to address his son.) "You better have eaten all your food when I get back."
NOAH: "Don't comeback, Daddy."

He loves to be naked. He still loves outdoors. Living where we do now is so good for him. He can get dirty in all this room he has to stretch his legs. The swingset and tree swing (Thank you, Taliaferros.) are frequent enjoyments and so are walks around the pond to find tracks or four wheeler rides next door to Mimi's. He loves to help me dig up or plant flowers. We just bought some strawberry plants, so we'll see how that goes. He helps Daddy work on Beatrice, Cody's 1971 International Scout. Noah is tackling the idea of pedaling. He skipped the whole tricycle stage since we have a battery-powered four-wheeler. Teaching Noah to pedal, for me, has been trying. What a difficult thing to teach! But after three evenings, he got it. Now we're working on confidence while riding the bike. He wants Cody or me right there with him when he's on the bike. Noah loves going to the zoo still. He requests "zoo days" often. He may do something with animals when he grows up. He enjoys them. Right now if you ask him, he will tell you he wants to be a firefighter like his daddy, a safari guide and a worker when he grows up. He wants to be "every job". He wants lots of jobs. The possibilities for him will be endless. God will direct his path just perfectly.
Noah is creativity, loves making crafts with me. (You can see our latest from the pictures- marshmallow/toothpick replicas of our home, Mommy, Daddy, Noah and the two dogs and a dinosaur. They look so realistic!) He's concentrating more on coloring in the lines and writing his letters at school. He can write his first name and adds the "G" with the period he calls a "dot". He knows all his uppercase letters and most of the lowercase ones. We are working hard on those at home. We are working on letter sounds, too, so he can start reading in the next year. He knows all his numbers 1-10 by sight. We are working on those tricky teen numbers. He is reading 3-digit numbers though. Go figure. He's also memorized a few bible verses - Psalms 139:4, Philippians 4:13, Ephesians 4:32. He knows Jesus died on the cross for him. He loves Seek and Find books and playing games. We have a family game night each week. Our favorites are Candyland, Trouble, Connect Four and Memory. He really likes to help in the kitchen when we are making dinner or a dessert. He likes learning how to measure things and see what happens when you mix such and such together.
Noah insists on wrestling with Daddy and pillow fights before bath. Play sword fighting and shooting Daddy's stuffed deer head with the Nerf gun darts are favs. Noah can completely dress himself for the day or in his jammies for bedtime without help. He helps around the house completing simple chores like feeding the dogs, putting away his socks and underwear and putting away his sippie cups and other dishes when we empty the dishwasher. He is very good at picking up after himself whether that's after dinner or when finished playing with his toys. He finally likes green beans...now that he's four he says. His favorite cereal is Fruity Pebbles. (He gets that from his daddy.) He has a big sweet tooth just like both his parents. He loves going to "Old McDonald's" to get a Happy Meal and a toy when he's been extra good. He prefers Sprite or chocolate milk to water.
He's into cars from the CARS movie, Tom and Jerry, Scooby Doo (hence the elaborate birthday party), dinosaurs, and Transformers. We limit what and how much he watches on tv. I've got him completely brainwashed that SpongeBob is bad. He loves for me to make him a palette in the living room floor and put in a movie. Nachos or popcorn is a must during the animated feature. For such a young age, he is so good with electronics (ie. our iPhones). He's definitely a gamer. He's better than me at a lot of the game apps I play! This is one habit we try to break (or really limit). He's constantly wanting our phones which we constantly have. We've used it as a crutch for too long when we're out in public. It's a great distraction for him! But we have to be careful about the amount of time he sits and plays rather than being active. He loves music still. He breaks out in dances whenever there's a song on he likes or he sings along with the radio in the car. He is still taking gymnastic classes. He loves to hit golf balls at the driving range with his Daddy. He will take swim lessons and play T-ball this summer.
Noah is a good listener. We logically explain things to him and he completely understands. He is compassionate to others. He desperately wants to please Cody and me. If he needs discipline, or a spank, he gets so upset that he's disappointed us. We tell him all the time how much he is loved and treasured and how much we are proud of him. He is very curious. He asks us questions about everything. He's constantly investigating. He has a contagious laugh that makes you bust out in laughter right along with him. He is ornery down to his core. He is an exact copy of his daddy and I love it.
