Four Christmases

Our Christmas expanded into four celebrations!

The first one was on December 23rd, Christmas Eve Eve, at Great Papa's house with Great Aunt Stephanie and Uncle David and cousins Maris and Elliott in from Oregon. A close family friend, Marilyn, also came to celebrate. We had a wonderful dinner which Uncle David prepared, wonderful family time and a small gift exchange. Noah was excited to get a new dinosaur! I received a fantastic devotional called Jesus Calling about finding peace in Jesus. It is worth picking one up at Mardel if you're looking for a devotional in the New Year. It's a really good one!

(A few days after Christmas, Noah opened this blue dinosaur from Papa John and Laura since we didn't see them on Christmas Eve Eve. I got a gorgeous necklace, too! I wasn't expecting that!)

Our second celebration was at Mimi's house on Christmas Eve, which is the tradition. It was without Daddy again this year because Daddy had to work at the station Christmas Eve. First, I had to sing at the Christmas Eve services. Rehearsal started at 1:30 pm and then three services followed at 3:30 pm, 5:00 pm and 6:30 pm. Mom, my sister, Kristin, and Noah came to the first service as well as Great Papa, Aunt Stephanie, Papa John (my dad) and Laura. It was nice to get to see my dad briefly in between services. About 8 pm, we finally got to start our Christmas Eve gift exchange. Noah got LOTS of cars and dinosaurs - two things he really, really loves!

Noah got this dinosaur head backpack from Great Uncle Bryan and Aunt Nancy, my mom's sister, from Wisconsin. It glows in the dark, too! It feels like a Halloween mask, all rubbery. Noah absolutely loves toting his toys around in it, now.
Noah got a few more Dinosaur Train dinosaurs to add to his collection. These dinosaurs are really, really cool. They talk to each other! And sing! I think I get more enjoyment out of playing with them than Noah does. Noah quickly caught on that Mimi was going to take pictures of every single gift Noah received. After he opened each gift, he'd quickly stand and say, "Take a picture, Mimi!" So cute!Auntie Kristin and Uncle Artie got Noah this red raptor to go with his other two dinosaurs that he received from Papa John and Great Aunt Stephanie. Noah was SOOOO excited when he opened the raptor. He did a little jumping dance!!
Our third celebration was our very own on Christmas morning - just the three of us. After playing Mrs. Claus into the wee hours of the morning, the living room was set up for Noahbear. (By the way...Toys come with too many twist ties, zip ties, plastic brackets, etc...Mrs. Claus had a hard time getting everything ready for Noah to play with in the morning!!!)

Santa brought Noah 'the claw', the Toy Story 3 landfill playset complete with Buzz, Woody, Bullseye, three aliens and Lotso. Santa also left the Batman cave playset with Batman, Robin and the Joker. There was also a really cool 5 foot long rocket ship left to assemble AND color for our many trips to space! Santa brought everything Noah asked for because he was such a good boy!

Cody got a T-shirt signed by three of the Heisman trophy winners from OU - Jason White, Billy Sims and Steve Owens - from my mom. It'll be a nice touch in the man cave upstairs.

Chase and Boulder now complete the Transformer Rescue Bot set...Another thing Noah asked for for Christmas.I bought my boys the Cabella's Game Hunter video game for the PlayStation 3. We've had a lot of fun these last few days shooting virtual deer!!

Cody got new toys, I mean tools from me! Hopefully, this will motivate him to keep on chucking with the home renovation!
Ok...Don't judge. It was early morning - no make up, bed head...I know. I was so excited about my big gift from Cody! This year, Cody blessed me with Twelve Days of Christmas. Each day I had a present waiting for me under the tree. The gifts were things like a new exercise outfit, a book, new in-ear headphones for leading worship, a neck pillow, Lady Antebellum CD. The biggest gift was on Christmas morning rolled up in a paper towel ring...two tickets to see Lady Antebellum live in Tulsa at the end of January!!!!! I am beyond excited to see my favorite country music band in person!!
This was our mess made from Christmas morning. Cody was very proud...This mess didn't last long because it drove me nuts! Then we headed to Seminole for our fourth and final Christmas celebration. Noah spent the whole rest of the day playing with his cousin, Kade. We had a great time with our gift exchange. Lexi, our niece, looking all cute with her new head wrap. Did you know she got a 29 on her ACT and she's only 15 years old!!?? She's amazing.Kade was SO excited about his gift from Noah - the movie Spooky Buddies on DVD. You can tell by Kade's face just how excited he was! He kept saying, "Thank you, Buddy!"Noah was very in to reading the gift tags this year. He wanted to make sure they were all for him. :)Noah got some Mater teeth from Aunt Sundy. So silly!Masha showing off her blinged out wallet from us. She is turning into a zebra, diamond-studded, pink girl!We spent a lot of time talking about God and his healing. Though Travis is still battling cancer, the tumors have shrunk 20% which we couldn't be more excited about! We are standing firm that God is and will heal Travis in 2012! Cody's brother, Dwayne, put together a special gift for Cody's dad, Gene, Cody's other brother, Travis and Cody for Christmas. He had a photo taken of the four of the Goodnight men blown up into 8x10s and then custom made frames for the picture. It was such a sweet gift. And has tradition has it, we sang "Happy Birthday" to Jesus and blew out the candles on His many, many cupcakes. Thanks, Aunt Sundy, for this great tradition! And then to top off the day, Travis and Gene serenaded us with dueling guitars and banjos. An OU Snuggie for two? Nana and Papa are so funny!
Our Christmas was so full of blessings and happy times. As we now look forward, we are believing God will continue those blessings and happiness in 2012!
