The Hunter and the Huntress

Cody and I have so many things to be thankful for this year. One of those is spending time together; just the two of us. Cody and I set our alarms really early Sunday morning - 5 am! I picked Cody up from the fire station and we headed to Seminole to get us a deer for the opening weekend of rifle season! The sun was just beginning to rise as we got to our first spot - hidden in the tree line to an open field. We hoped deer would cross our path. No luck. Cody quickly reverted us to the high line where we sat perched on a rock atop a hill overlooking the high line below. Still no luck. We heard 28 gunshots in the distance - yes, we counted. Each time we hoped we'd be the lucky number next in line. We weren't successful in the least - saw only birds and squirrels, but we enjoyed watching the sunrise paint the treeline gold and watching the morning fog disappear. We were freezing next to each other on the rock. Our toes were so cold. It was 46 degrees. Not cold, but cool enough. Good times just the two of us...

Check out our brief slideshow below of today's early adventure. Happy Thanksgiving!
